The Federal Communicators
Network established five strategic goals in
1996.
They are to:
- Build
partnerships with employee unions and
communication groups.
- Establish
a World Wide Website containing
reinvention and communication resource
information.
- Identify
a communications structure for reaching
all Federal employees with prompt, timely
information.
- Establish
baseline demographics for our membership
and member resources
- Define
long-term goals and plans to support our
membership and government reinvention
efforts.

In
realizing these goals, the Federal Communicators
Network will:
- Provide
access to agency and departmental
publications, editors, and public affairs
offices.
- Share
agency and departmental reinvention
successes and best practices.
- Maintain
calendars of events.
- Maintain
and operate an Internet-based electronic
network for linking and collaboration.
- Share
information through our syndicated news
service.
- Support
common interest groups.
- Conduct
workshops on topics of common interest.
- Exchange
employment opportunities.
- Maintain
relationships with other private and
public sector communications groups.
