There was a brief discussion of the October workshop on Earned Media and PSA’s. The date for the workshop is 10-4 starting at 8:30 at the White House Conference Center.

A lot of discussion centered on the draft agenda for the December seminar. Various people were discussed as possible speakers for the various slots but nothing was firm. There was some discussion on getting a representative that dealt with the Los Alamos fire situation and/or Oklahoma bombing to help with the Crisis Communications breakout session. Carol Harvey suggested a potential speaker for Communications Strategy. We also discussed the possibility to have different speakers for same subjects of the AM and PM breakouts. Also there was some discussion and agreement to have a breakout session on Writing for the Internet. Finally, participation by the US Postal Service in the PM success story segment was debated but unresolved. Simone recently saw a television story that stated the Postal Service was raising stamp prices because they are $87 million in the red. Dann brought up that may not sit well with their customers when they just spent a bunch of money at the Tour de France.

Judy Wells, Planetgov.com, told us a little about their organization. Judy is the Work/Life editor. She told us her company wants to work with us in some form.
