GENERAL DISCUSSION. ACTION ITEMS TO FOLLOW NEXT MEETING
There will be no meeting next Monday, July 3, in lieu of the holiday, but meetings will resume the following Monday, and will continue every Monday, regardless of who can and cannot attend. We decided to review draft of registration fax sheet and form from Donise at next meeting. We culled the existing planning team e-mail distribution list.
ACTION ITEM
Donise will create two different lists, one for the weekly FCN/Fellows media seminar planning team and one for the monthly FCN core planning team. Add Carol Harvey's NPR email address to both. Also add new members, Simone and Ivone.
Chuck described recent PEW report examining forms of media and their reliability.
SEPTEMBER WORKSHOP
The workshop on PSA's and Executive Branch TV has been rescheduled for October 4, from 8am to 1pm at the White House Conference.
ACTION ITEM
David and Dann will coordinate with each other and with the two speakers we wish to invite - Bill Goodwill and Dennis Dunbar.
DECEMBER 8 MEDIA SEMINAR DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS
Possible guests for Dec. 8 a.m. panel were discussed. Some ideas thrown around were CNN government reporters (i.e. Bob Franken and Frank Sessno, DC Bureau chief), and WRC reporter Joe Johns. Also Steve Barr at The Washington Post, Dominic LaPonzina from IRS Baltimore, Barb Smedo of NOAA, and Nina Tottenberg as a possible broadcast representative.
Marci to contact Aaron Pressman from Industry Standard to participate on December a.m panel discussion as representative of Internet journalism.
Everyone will keep an eye out for interesting panel speakers, mainly on the press side Cindy will follow up with Planetgov.com to see if they may be interested in sponsoring the December meeting, but will first check out the site and report back to the committee. She will also touch base with NPR press person. Cindy will check out other seminar sponsors such as mygov.com and others.
