NPR is working with the
General Services Administration to provide the President and
Vice President with the capability of sending all federal workers
e-mail messages about reinventing government. We are planning
a relay system, in which the message goes through the heads of
departments and agencies. Jack Finley at GSA is coordinating
the initiative.
Attention to those Federal Communicators Network members who
are e-mail coordinators for your respective agency or who work
closely with the person who is: please get in touch with me as
soon as possible so I can assemble a contact list to help Mr.
Finley in this enormous undertaking.
Calendar
The Blue Pages roll-out is Friday, November 15, 10:00 am, at
the GSA bldg, 18th and F Streets, NW, in the auditorium. The
following agencies are receiving Hammer Awards for making government
listings in the phone book more customer-friendly: Agriculture,
Commerce, Consumer Product Safety Commission, Defense, Education,
Energy, EPA, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission, Federal Mediation and Conciliation
Service, General Services Administration, Health and Human Services,
Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Justice, Labor, NASA,
National Science Foundation, Peace Corps, Small Business Administration,
Social Security Administration, Transportation, Treasury, and
Veterans Affairs. If you wish to attend, please coordinate with
your agency because spacing is limited. To obtain clearance,
call Ron Piasecki or his secretary Laverne Witt at (202) 501-0308.
Reminder to sign up for e-mail list server!
If you have e-mail, please subscribe. You will receive your material
much more quickly -- it currently takes me four days to fax to
everyone, but with e-mail, there will be no wait. To join:
E-mail a message to "listproc@etc.fed.gov".
In the body (not the title) of the message, type the following:
Subscribe ComNet-L Firstname Lastname
[Example: Subscribe ComNet-L Jane Doe]
Once you go electronic, please e-mail me a message.
That way I can ensure you do not receive the material by both
fax and e mail. Please bear with us for the first next few weeks
as we get the bugs out of this system. Thank you!
