Reinvention success
stories are an invaluable tool in our efforts to
help spread the good news of government
reinvention to front-line federal workers and the
public. FCN and the National Partnership for
Reinventing Government are looking for success
stories about federal agencies and their partners
who have made extraordinary progress in
reinventing government. Good reinvention
success stories are written in plain language and
show innovations in at least one or more of the
following areas of reinvention: putting customers
first; empowering employees; cutting red tape;
cutting back to basics (stop doing things not in
core mission); and achieving results Americans
care about. These stories are further
strengthened if they show bottom-line savings or
cost avoidance, as well as strong partnership
(interagency, intergovernmental, private,
nonprofit or others).
There are hundreds of amazing reinvention
success stories in the federal government. Each
achievement brings us one step closer to Vice
President Gore's dream of creating a federal
government that works better, costs less and
delivers results Americans care about.
Please send your reinvention success stories
to Pat Wood at pat.wood@npr.gov.
We look forward to hearing from you.
